An Iron Wing That Sparked a Cinematic Dream

Developed over a five-year journey, the work that marked the beginning of Silver Swallow Studio’s path—“The First Swallows”—left a strong impression on domestic audiences through its fully 3D-produced aerial combat sequences, created with complex and advanced visual effects technology.
As part of the Vietnam Air Combat documentary series, this non-profit project combines real interview footage of the late Lieutenant General Tran Hanh with 3D visual effects–driven aerial battle scenes. Together, these elements bring to life an authentic historical air combat story of the Vietnam People’s Air Force, told through a cinematic and technologically driven narrative.

The film focuses on the historic battle at Ham Rong Bridge on April 4, 1965—the first aerial engagement between the Vietnam People’s Air Force and the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Naval Aviation. A Vietnamese MiG-17 fighter formation, led by pilot Tran Hanh, engaged U.S. F-105 and F-100D attack aircraft, successfully defending Ham Rong Bridge.
“Typo Master” Wins an Award in Japan
In addition, Silver Swallow Studio was honored with the Asian Silver Award at the DigiCon6 Short Film Competition 2017 in Japan for the 3D animated short film “Typo Master”.The film presents a witty and lighthearted story centered on an elderly traditional scholar—portrayed with the demeanor of a master, yet approached through a humorous lens. This creative perspective offers international audiences an accessible and engaging glimpse into Vietnamese people and culture.

Building Our Reputation Through Major Film Productions
Beyond short films, the Silver Swallow Studio team continuously seeks opportunities to contribute to large-scale theatrical productions. We have been among the VFX production units involved in “Furie (Hai Phuong)” directed by Le Van Kiet, as well as “Thanh Sói – Furies” directed by Ngo Thanh Van.In addition, Én Bạc Film Studio assigned several team members to participate in the production crew of “Dreamy Eyes (Mắt Biếc)” directed by Victor Vu, providing support while gaining hands-on experience from a highly professional filmmaking team within the industry.Although our contributions to these well-known commercial films were modest in scale, our involvement has gradually helped establish the reputation of Én Bạc Film Studio within Vietnam’s film production community.

Other Short Films and Video Productions
